Transmit Data from Space to Earth amid Harsh Conditions

For decades, GORE® Spaceflight Microwave RF Assemblies have transmitted unfailing signals with low loss up to 40 GHz in hundreds of global programs. They durably protect against shock, vibration, extreme temperatures, chemicals, radiation and ATOX. Small and low-mass, they help minimize mass budget problems and tight installation paths.

GORE Spaceflight Microwave RF Assemblies are trusted to ensure readiness and success in many applications operating in low earth orbit (LEO), geostationary earth orbit (GEO) and deep space environments, like:

  • antennas
  • box-to-box connections
  • extreme temperatures
  • general & low-mass payload
  • high-density interconnections
  • high-frequency & high-power equipment
  • low-PIM & multipaction equipment
  • inside-the-box connections
  • limited-flex equipment
  • low insertion loss applications
  • mass-critical applications
  • Multiplexor
  • Quick connect
  • satellite panel-to-panel equipment

We offer a selection of cable types in various frequencies, diameters and lengths to accommodate many high-power, high-frequency and high-density applications for traditional space or NewSpace and launch.

  • Frequencies: 18, 22, 29.5, 32 and 40 GHz
  • Diameters: 0.085 in (2.2 mm), 0.120 in (3.0 mm), 0.140 in (3.6 mm), 0.170 in (4.3 mm), 0.190 in (4.8 mm), 0.290 (7.4 mm), 0.320 in (8.1 mm)

You can request specific phase or time delay matching for applications with frequencies up to 40 GHz. We can also provide absolute and relative time delay matching to sub-picosecond tolerances.

Technical Information

We work closely with major space organizations like the ESA (European Space Agency) and NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) to deliver low-risk assemblies with valued reliability from an ESA-qualified and ISO 9001:2000-certified manufacturing facility.

Our assemblies have undergone substantial qualification testing to replicate mission life, including integration, launch and in-orbit phases.

Traditional Space

  • ESA, ECSS-Q-ST-60-13C, Annex G Class 1
  • NASA, EEE-INST-002 Level 1
  • Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 9

NewSpace & Launch

  • ESA, ECSS-Q-ST-60-13C, Annex G Class 2
  • ESA, ESCC 3408 Chart F4A
  • NASA, EEE-INST-002 Level 2

GORE Spaceflight Microwave RF Test Assemblies are identified by a 16-character part number that designates the cable type, connector codes and forms, assembly length and an additional identifier for temperature range based on the application for traditional space or NewSpace and launch.

For all of our cable types, we manufacture a variety of robust, low-profile connector options like SMA, SSMA, MSSS, SMP, SMPM, 2.92 mm and more. They’re specifically designed to complement the performance of each assembly, minimizing loss and reflection for optimized signal transmission.
