A Fall From the Sky, a Dad’s Life Saved
A Special July 4 Anniversary
Three years ago, aerial photographer Iwan van der Schoor hit the water chest-first when his parachute failed. Paramedics rushed him to physicians, who got him to the specialty cardiology team that repaired his ruptured aorta with a Gore device. Shortly after, a coordinated medical team returned him to his family.
Every day, our products perform in challenging environments where the cost of failure is high. We're proud to deliver solutions that improve lives.
Redefining Stroke Prevention
The “Hole” Truth About Strokes with Unknown Causes
One-third of ischemic strokes have unknown causes; 40-50% of people who experience these strokes have a hole in their heart called a patent foramen ovale (PFO). With strong data on the connection between PFO and stroke from the Gore REDUCE Clinical Study and the FDA approval of its GORE® CARDIOFORM Septal Occluder for PFO closure, Gore is helping patients to significantly reduce the risk of experiencing another stroke.
Fuel Cell Vehicle with GORE-SELECT® Membranes
The Hyundai NEXO – Powered by Hydrogen
Hyundai’s latest fuel cell vehicle has already made a splash. Makes sense - its only emission is water. The hydrogen-powered NEXO Fuel Cell SUV debuted at the January 2018 CES® global innovation show in Las Vegas and will officially launch later this year. GORE-SELECT® Membranes contribute to the fuel cell stack’s increased power density while meeting strict requirements for durability and quality.
