Primary Metal Filtration

Steel Industry Filtration

Steel plants must meet strict EPA and NAAQS standards for particulate emissions from baghouses and meltshops. Non-compliance risks costly penalties and disruptions. Filters also support OSHA worker safety standards—helping maintain safe meltshop conditions and avoid labor issues. Without effective dust collection, plants may be forced to cut production to stay compliant.  GORE Filter Bags provide increased fugitive capture efficiencies and lower overall particulate emissions.  Due to increased cleaning efficiency of our high-performing PTFE-based membranes, the overall baghouse pressure drop is reduced, and a 10–15% increase in airflow can be typically achieved.

Secondary Lead Filtration

Lead recycling faces tight EPA limits—just 0.2 mg/Nm³ for stack emissions—and strict worker exposure standards. Escaping fumes from smelting and refining can contaminate air, prompting industry-wide blood monitoring to keep levels under 20 µg/dL. Plants must improve capture at the source to minimize risk and avoid costly operational impacts. GORE Filter Bags meet the strictest lead emissions regulations because our bags feature a PTFE-based seam tape that makes it virtually impossible for dust to leak through the stitch holes.

Ferroalloys Filtration

Ferroalloy producers aim to boost furnace capacity without overloading baghouse systems or increasing costs. With tighter emissions rules, reliable filters are key to maintaining high extraction volumes and plant uptime. Gore delivers filters that control emissions, support system performance, and offer proven cost-effectiveness. GORE Filter Bags can operate at 1.5 to 2 times the air-to-cloth ratio of non-membrane filters and are designed to last longer than any other filter on the market.

Non-Ferrous Metals Filtration

Smelting metals like copper, aluminum, and zinc consumes high energy and produces heavy particulate emissions.
