PHASEFLEX Connector Cable Construction

Rugged construction of GORE PHASEFLEX Microwave RF Test Assemblies

Longer Life in Demanding Environments

We’ve engineered features for GORE PHASEFLEX Microwave RF Test Assemblies that make them more durable in demanding environments, including:

  • torque, crush and kink resistance while also preventing potential damage from exceeding a cable’s minimum bend radius
  • abrasion resistance
  • dust and moisture resistance
  • chemical resistance
  • wide temperature range
  • high connector pull strength
Reliable Performance Over Time

Our assemblies offer test equipment manufacturers across industries many benefits that ensure reliable electrical and mechanical performance over time, like:

  • precise, repeatable measurements guaranteed up to 110 GHz
  • enhanced phase and amplitude stability with flexure and temperature
  • proven continuous flex life performance with some constructions over 100,000 cycles
  • longer service life with rugged constructions that resist crushing, twisting and kinking
  • withstand frequent connecting and disconnecting to test equipment
  • increased throughput, reduced equipment downtime and lower total cost of test
  • lower costs and reduced risk for R&D and System Integration Laboratory (SIL) by enhancing confidence in data integrity and reducing re-testing
  • a variety of connector options engineered to optimize assembly performance

We offer cable types in various frequencies and standard assembly lengths to accommodate many test and measurement applications across industries.

Frequencies: 18, 26.5, 32, 40, 50, 70 and 110 GHz
Standard Assembly Lengths: 12 in (0.30 m), 24 in (0.61 m), 36 in (0.91 m), 48 in (1.22 m), and 60 in (1.52 m). Custom lengths are also available.

You can request specific phase or time delay matching for applications with frequencies through 70 GHz. We can also provide absolute and relative time delay matching to sub-picosecond tolerances.

Type CX (110 GHz)
Standard Assembly Lengths:  10.0 cm (3.9 in), 13.0 cm (5.1 in), 16.0 cm (6.3 in), 20.0 cm (7.9 in), 24.0 cm (9.4 in), and 30.0 cm (11.8 in).

Technical Information

For all of our cable types, we offer a variety of high-pull strength connector options specifically designed to optimize the performance of each assembly, like SMA, TNCA, 2.92 mm and more.

GORE PHASEFLEX Microwave RF Test Assemblies are identified by a 13-character part number that designates the cable type, connector types, assembly length and T/V identifier for thermal vacuum chamber use.

Positions 1–2: Two-character code representing each cable type (e.g., 0F, 0N, 0S, CX, etc.).

Positions 3–5: Connector A that will attach to the VNA.

Positions 6–8: Connector B that will attach to the device under test (DUT).

Positions 9–12: The assembly length is expressed in inches to the nearest tenth, including zeroes to fill positions if the length is less than three digits. For example, the length of a 24-in test assembly is specified as 0240 in the last four digits of the part number. Standard lengths include 12 in (0.30 m), 24 in (0.61 m), 36 in (0.91 m), 48 in (1.22 m), and 60 in (1.52 m). For our Type CX at 110 GHz, the assembly length is expressed in centimeters. Standard lengths include 10.0 cm (3.9 in), 13.0 cm (5.1 in), 16.0 cm (6.3 in), 20.0 cm (7.9 in), 24.0 cm (9.4 in), 30.0 cm (11.8 in).

Position 13: Identifier T/V included only for an assembly prepared for thermal vacuum chamber use.
