Local innovation with global reach
Chris Bazydola sees the impact of Maryland innovation every day
As a manufacturing leader in one of Gore’s facilities in Elkton, Maryland, Chris Bazydola focuses on teamwork, collaboration and continuous improvement. He works with the GORE® VIABIL® Biliary Endoprosthesis team, helping support the manufacturing of devices designed to improve quality of life for patients facing serious medical conditions.
For Chris, the work is meaningful because of the direct connection between the products made in Maryland and the people they help.
“What I’m most proud of is the medical devices that I support and how they help not only the patient, but the families around them,” Chris said. “It’s really important to me to contribute to that healthcare portion of the business.

Collaboration is a big part of daily life at Gore’s facilities. Chris describes an environment where associates are encouraged to contribute ideas, solve problems together and stay focused on shared goals.
“We don’t have a hierarchical structure,” he said. “It’s really a group win that we look for.”
Chris also believes many people outside the company would be surprised by the amount of work happening inside Gore’s Maryland facilities.
“So many people drive past these plants and don’t really understand what’s going on inside,” he said. “There are huge innovations happening in multiple product lines right here in Cecil County.”
What stands out most to Chris is Gore’s continued investment in the region and the opportunities it creates for local families and future employees.
“We’re continuing to grow here,” he said. “That growth creates opportunities for people in this community.”
For Chris, that connection between local careers and meaningful work is what continues to set Gore apart.
