Challenge

Cameras for mobile machinery have to withstand the same conditions as the rest of the heavy-duty equipment, including operation at different altitudes, temperature changes, harsh weather conditions and operation in very dirty and dusty environments. In addition, they are prone to a natural risk of condensation, that could blur the picture.

To ensure their cameras deliver premium image quality at all times, the Liebherr‑Components product segment partnered with Gore to obtain the necessary support and expertise.

Solution

Gore’s engineers suggested the GORE® PolyVent XS for the mobile digital camera (MDC4) by Liebherr. While offering a particularly small form factor, it does not miss out on performance. The innovative membrane within the vent provides excellent protection against particles and moisture and enables IP6K7 and IP6K9K device protection. At the same time, it features high airflow, ensuring rapid pressure equalization for superior seal protection.
