Overview

GORE Coaxial Cable, Optimized RG 400 Series delivers enhanced electrical performance with up to 10% lower attenuation. Also, our cable has a durable construction that provides reliable protection with excellent shielding effectiveness in challenging aerospace environments, including wide temperatures ranging from -65⁰ C to 200⁰ C.

Significant Size and Weight Savings

Gore’s innovative fluoropolymer technologies deliver an optimized coaxial cable that is 60% lighter weight and 30% smaller diameter when compared to the standard RG cable, which means significant weight savings in a smaller package. The small cable diameter also increases flexibility with a tight bend radius for easy routing in tight spaces, making it an ideal choice for civil aircraft electronics retrofits.

As an example, if our coaxial cable replaced all of the standard RG400 cables on a typical large cabin business jet, expectations of weight savings is approximately 42 lbs. (19 kg). When our coaxial cable replaced the standard RG400 cable on an Airbus 330 in-flight entertainment system, the weight savings was 48 lbs. (22 kg) from that one application.

All of this translates to reduced weight and size, enhanced electrical performance and reliable protection in demanding aerospace conditions.
