Overview

The industry’s need for faster data transmission over longer distances is driving the demand to update military aircraft with higher data rate cables in modern airborne digital networks to ensure the success of critical military operations. Cables also need to be much stronger to tolerate rough aerospace environments and complex routing in less space while delivering consistent signal integrity throughout it all.

GORE Aerospace Quad Cables provide outstanding mechanical and electrical performance compared to standard quad cables making them an ideal solution for a variety of high-speed data protocols. Particularly for Ethernet Cat5e requirements, our cables maintain reliable signal transmission at longer distances — up to 70 meters for size 24 AWG and 50 meters for size 26 AWG.

Smaller Quad Cable Diameter

The enhanced design of our cables is substantially smaller and lighter weight without sacrificing durability. Our quad design is approximately 40% smaller than common dual-twisted-pair constructions. When compared to standard quad cables, our design has saved more than 11 lbs. (5.0 kg) on fighter aircraft such as the latest fifth-generation F-35. This smaller diameter also increases flexibility with a tight bend radius making it easier for maintainers to route cables in overcrowded areas surrounding aircraft electronic systems.
