Gore Highlights from the 2016 Farnborough Airshow
July 11, 2016 - July 17, 2016
Faster digital networks, more power performance, high-quality in-flight entertainment (IFEC), improved fuel efficiency, and less maintenance and downtime were some of the major themes at the Farnborough International Airshow held in London on July 11-17.
Gore was one of 1500 exhibitors and showcased GORE® Aerospace Cables and Materials engineered specifically to help designers and manufacturers meet these challenges.
During the week, a large flow of visitors continually stopped by Gore’s booth to learn more about our products and discuss their specific application needs for civil and military aircraft with our specialists. Products like GORE™ SKYFLEX™ Aerospace Materials and GORE® Aerospace High Speed Data Cables were key areas of interest, particularly fiber optics as the industry is moving towards a more data-driven future with faster protocols.
The F-35 JSF Program is currently a strong focus in the military aerospace industry, so visitors were very interested in Gore’s advanced cables and materials across all platforms such as GORE® MIL-STD-1760 Assemblies. We also hosted a Happy Hour that proved to be an overall success as visitors enjoyed snacks and drinks while talking with our specialists.
Other highlights at the airshow included a thrilling flyby of Lockheed Martin’s F-35B Lightening II. Also on display at the airshow were Airbus’s new A350 XWB and Boeing’s latest generation 737 MAX.
Gore’s full portfolio of innovative aerospace solutions includes new and advanced interconnect systems, tapes and gaskets, and shielding materials for civil and military aircraft.
