Various Protective Vents products

To ensure that our products deliver the performance and reliability that you expect, we conduct various tests and use key performance indicators during vent production.

It Pays to Compare: Extended Lifetime, Increased Profitability

GORE® Protective Vents vs. Common Venting Solutions

As the name says, Gore Protective Vents enable pressure equalization through venting with the key feature of ingress protection. Other venting technologies have limits to protecting against the ingress of dust and moisture.

NEMA Ratings and What They Mean

Technical Information

A critical aspect of vent selection begins with defining the level of protection your application, device or housing requires.

IP ratings cannot be “converted” to NEMA ratings, since NEMA requires additional testing not included in IP. However, there are minimum NEMA ratings that will meet or exceed a given IP code.

Ingress Protection, IP, is an internationally accepted standard for indicating how well an electrical enclosure protects electronic equipment, devices, or components against solid objects and liquids.

GORE® Protective Vents - Solar Energy Systems - Brochure

GORE® Vents help manufacturers improve the cost-effectiveness, production efficiencies and life expectancy of solar energy systems and components.

GORE® Protective Vents - Telecommunication Systems - Brochure

High-value telecommunications components can benefit from higher reliability, and lower manufacturing, maintenance and warranty costs, with GORE Protective Vents.

GORE® Protective Vents - Lighting Enclosures - Brochure

Bright, reliable lighting can dramatically enhance the enjoyment – and safety – of public and commercial spaces and transitways. People feel safer and more secure when the places they park and walk have bright, working luminaires. But over time, environmental factors can degrade the luminaire’s original level of Ingress Protection (IP). This will allow damaging moisture and contaminants to enter the enclosure.

GORE® Protective Vents - Heavy Duty Equipment - Brochure

GORE® Vents reliably protect sensitive electronics from dirt, water, heat and humidity, to keep material handling, construction and agricultural equipment performing reliably in the harshest operating conditions.

Reliability Testing of GORE® Protective Vents in Telecommunication Enclosures

When telecommunication equipment fails prematurely due to conditions of the environment in which it is installed, it leads to network downtime, increased costs and maintenance, and reduced brand loyalty. Gore application engineers developed new enclosure reliability tests that replicate real-world environmental challenges.
