PLEINFELD, Germany. (September 20, 2018) — W. L. Gore & Associates, Inc. (Gore) offer extremely rugged cable jacket systems in smaller, lighter weight constructions that meet industry demand and requirements for more durability and protection in tough aerospace environments.

Engineered with a revolutionary fluoropolymer fiber material, GORE™ High Abrasion Jacket System is more robust without sacrificing size, weight or electrical performance. This new cable jacket system is extremely abrasion-resistant and proven to meet more stringent requirements such as EN3475-503. It eliminates the need for additional protective sleeving now required for cables installed in cockpit and cabin seats.

GORE™ Cable Protection Systems are built with crush- and abrasion-resistant materials that also provide a high level of strength and protection. Within these systems, copper and fiber can float freely without getting damaged in harsh conditions, such as complex routing and extreme temperature changes. Gore’s cable protection systems are also bend-limiting allowing installers to route copper and fiber without exceeding the minimum bend radius, which eliminates over-bending, breakage, and failure.

Ultimately, Gore’s remarkable cable jacket systems ensure durable protection for longer service life in a low-profile, highly flexible design that makes routing fast and easy for less maintenance, downtime, and overall costs.

Ideal for Packaging Copper & Fiber

Gore's jacket systems are ideal for packaging cables required to enable today's high-speed architecture and future designs for in-flight entertainment and connectivity (IFEC) such as USB, HDMI, Fiber Optics and more.

GORE™ High Abrasion Jacket System and GORE™ Cable Protection Systems, along with Gore's extensive collection of aerospace solutions will be on display at the APEX (Airline Passenger Experience Association) Expo in Boston, MA, on September 24-27, Booth 801.
