 Top 10 Tips screenshot

This article, featured in the April 2009 issue of Motion System Design magazine, provides tips on specifying and working with cables for automated machinery and systems. Check out these tips and tactics from industry leaders to keep your data and power lines healthy.

assembleon

Application article by Jörgen Andersson in Signalen magazine, October 2006, about a Gore custom-made FireWire cable.

This article, featured in the February 19, 2009 issue of Machine Design, explains the value expanded PTFE brings to Gore products, especially cable.  The author provides a deep look inside PTFE , the materials characteristics and explains how this material gives cables long flex-life, extra strength, better signal transmission, and clean-room performance.

Cables for Clean Rooms screenshot

This article, featured in the July 23, 2009 issue of Machine Design, discusses the problem of particulates for moving cable systems and provides guidance on designing cable systems for a cleanroom environment.

Mechanical Engineering Magazine: Letting Surfers Vent

DECEMBER 2009 // Author Harry Hutchinson interviews engineer and lifelong surfer Peter Casica about his innovative use of GORE® Protective Vents to prevent damage to surfboards. Casica knew temperature extremes created pressure differentials within the board, causing deformation, delaminations and leaks. See how a GORE® PolyVent solved the problem.

A Proven Solution to Protect MEMS Microphones

Technical Information, 199.78 KB

Rigorous testing shows how GORE® MEMS Protective Vents Style 200 reliably prevents particle contamination and pressure build-ups in MEMS microphones, and enables higher manufacturing yields and in-process acoustic testing in high-volume PCB (Printed Circuit Board) assembly operations.

Creating durable seals in glass-lined steel equipment

Equipment made of glass-lined steel is used when manufacturing or processing aggressive chemicals such as aniline derivatives and strong acids such as sulfuric, nitric or hydrochloric acid. The Achilles heel of such glass-lined systems is the gaskets needed to seal the joints between components. Exposure to aggressive media causes the seals to degrade over time, resulting in damage to equipment and posing a health risk to operators. Replacing the seals costs a great deal of time and effort, with a corresponding drop in production output.
