GORE Automotive Vents - Weldable Vents: 26 28 29 39 47 49 50 51 52 108

Describes the performance options (High Airflow and High Temperature) available in the Weldable Series for automotive electrical/electronic modules, (e.g. control units, sensors, actuators or motors). Includes performance characteristics as well as design and dimensions.

Extended Water Entry Pressure Test Guideline

The guidelines are based on Gore’s best practices in eWEP (extended Water Entry Pressure) testing for GORE® Portable Electronic Vents. Please follow the guidelines to conduct the eWEP testing to minimize water leakage failures caused by test issues.

Various Protective Vents products

To ensure that our products deliver the performance and reliability that you expect, we conduct various tests and use key performance indicators during vent production.

GORE® Protective Vents - Snap-In Series - Data Sheet & Installation Guide

The Snap-In Series delivers fast reliable installation and durable protection for enclosure volumes of all sizes: from less than 0.5 liters up to 30 liters. Ideal for high-throughput or manual production, the Snap-In Series offers multiple performance options, including new PolyVent XS:  a compact, low-profile vent for today’s smaller, thinner-walled, lighter-weight enclosures.

Gore MEMS Protective Vents Style 100

The current methods used during circuit board assembly to protect MEMS microphones can cause performance degradation, significant yield losses and higher manufacturing costs. With GORE MEMS Protective Vent Style 100, industry-leading protection and acoustic performance can be seamlessly installed during circuit board assembly.

GORE® Automotive Vents - Snap-Fit Vents: AVS 14, 67, 70, 200 - Data Sheet

Describes the performance options (Standard, High Temperature, High Airflow, and Compact) available in the Snap-Fit Series for automotive electronic modules (control units, sensors, actuators and motors). Includes performance characteristics, installation recommendations, and testing methods/criteria.

GORE® Protective Vents - Screw-In Series

The Screw-In Series offers a variety of performance options that durably withstand mechanical stresses and rugged environments. They all provide oleophobic membranes and are hydrolytically-stable, UV- and temperature-resistant. Compare all the PolyVent options, including the enhanced GORE® PolyVent Stainless Steel, now top-rated “IK10” for mechanical impact resistance. It provides exceptional protection that helps enclosures up to 20 liters withstand the toughest mechanical and environmental conditions.

GORE® Protective Vents vs. Common Venting Solutions

As the name says, Gore Protective Vents enable pressure equalization through venting with the key feature of ingress protection. Other venting technologies have limits to protecting against the ingress of dust and moisture.

Icon for thermal insulation technical note

GORE® Thermal Insulation has unique properties of low thickness (< 300 μm) with conductivity less than air (< 0.02 W/(m•K) ) and therefore presents challenges in characterization. A test methodology incorporating a modified heat flow method, ex-situ thickness method, and two thickness conductivity calculation is used to provide reliable and accurate thermal conductivity data. Conductivity results show the distribution of data falls below the conductivity specification of 0.02 W/(m•K).

Reduce Condensation

Technical Information

As LED lighting proliferates in automotive applications, so does condensation. That’s because LED lamps’ heat source is at the rear of the assembly, making the lens area the cold spot where condensation forms most easily. Often with unpleasant results: foggy, cloudy or streaky lenses, and lamps that don’t shine as brightly as when they left the showroom. Condensation could also compromise integrated sensors or other electronic devices.
