Wiper motors are critical to driver safety, yet their durability can be threatened by anything from extreme weather to owner-applied cleaning agents or high-pressure steam jets. In an increasingly cost-sensitive environment, OEMs require more effective venting to protect and extend the service life of wiper motors, reducing warranty claims. Gore has a portfolio of venting solutions engineered to preserve peak wiper motor performance, more cost-effectively: Our membrane cut-part vents (AVS 25, 26, 28, 29 and 39) and our three-layer cut part vents (AVS 47, 48, 49, 50, 51 and 52).
Electronic Pump Motor
Emission and fuel-consumption considerations are driving the transition from belt-driven mechanical pumps to electronic pumps. However, sensitive electronics require more protection from under-hood hazards like extreme temperature differentials and exposure to automotive fluids or high-pressure steam spray. High-airflow vents are engineered to manage rapid temperature and pressure changes while effectively reducing ingress from water, fluids, and other contaminants. With proven performance, our vents protect electronic pump motors more reliably for fewer warranty claims.
Starter reliability is always crucial, especially with the introduction of the new "start⁄stop" systems, which cycle much more often than older designs. To perform reliably time after time, these systems require advanced protection - from large temperature differentials as well as from automotive fluids, dirt, and other particulates. Our durable vents provide long-lasting protection for starter motors exposed to harsh under-hood conditions and road-debris hazards.

With its new GORE® PolyVent Compact Series, W. L. Gore & Associates, Inc. introduces higher-performance venting in a smaller footprint. About 30% smaller than the widely-used PolyVent Snap-Fit product family, the new Compact Series is easier to integrate into even the smallest automotive electronic housings. It provides a higher level of protection for sensitive components like sensors, motors and control units, while providing reliable and rapid pressure equalization.
Approximately 30 percent smaller than other GORE Snap-Fit Vents, the compact series provides a higher level of protection for extremely small electronic components, where space is at a premium.
W. L. Gore & Associates has expanded its line of GORE® Automotive Vents to include the new Series: AVS 41 (P/N VE2048) venting solution, which is engineered specifically for powertrain components. This new vent improves component reliability by equalizing pressure, preventing contamination from water, dust, dirt, and other automotive fluids and simplifying design challenges, ultimately resulting in lower overall costs.
