For products exposed to the elements such as telecommunications equipment and lighting enclosures, GORE™ Protective Vents provide an effective barrier from dust and dirt and still allow the product to breathe with changing environmental conditions. This prevents pressure from building up and damaging enclosure seals, exposing sensitive components to water and debris.
Vent and Protect
GORE™ Protective Vents enable product designs that keep out water but still vent gasses. This is important for electronic devices and any electronics used around water, such as depth finders and global positioning systems (GPS). The microporous structure of the membrane makes the vents ideal for relieving gas buildup such as the hydrogen released from rechargable batteries used in domestic appliances and other products.
Waterproof Covers
The vents' stiff, lightweight construction is virtually transparent to acoustic signals, providing speaker element protection without compromising signal quality or strength. And their chemical resistance and microporous structure make them well suited for sensor applications, especially in harsh environments.
