How to install GORE™ Automotive Vents with Adhesive Technology

GORE™ Automotive Vents provide the flexibility to be installed manually for low-volume or frequently changing production, as well as fully automated installation for high-volume production.


Installing GORE™ Automotive Vents with Adhesive Technology is a relatively simple procedure. However, it is important to follow each step to assure proper adhesion of the vent to the mounting surface and avoid product failure critical to lamp function. There are four basic steps in the procedure:

  1. Preparation
  2. Positioning Vent
  3. Hand Compression of Vent
  4. Machine Compression of Vent

Before you begin, always wash hands before working with vents. Make sure work area is clean and uncluttered.

1. Preparation

  • Inspect vent for defects
  • Clean mounting surface with alcohol if needed

2. Positioning Vent

  • Using target frame as a guide, place vent squarely inside frame

3. Hand Compression

  • Press around edge of vent 2 times

4. Machine Compression

  • Place lamp in the seat of the compression device and compress once.
  • Remove lamp and inspect
