GORE™ SKYFLEX® Aircraft Sealant Case Study: F-15 Eagle
The U.S. Air Force has approved the use of GORE™ SKYFLEX® Aircraft Sealant on the F-15 Eagle fighter. The technical orders that allow use of GORE™ SKYFLEX® Aircraft Sealant on the F-15 Eagle are: IF-IJA-23 pages 1-32A and 1-32B; and IF-IJA/C/E-3-5 para 6-13A through 6-13F. SKYFLEX applications for the F-15 include wing and fuselage access panels and aft formation lights. Sealant part number GUA 1017-1 is used to form the seals. Approximately 4.5 rolls of GUA 1017-1 are required for one aircraft. GORE™ SKYFLEX®Aircraft Sealant part number GUA 1003-1 is a compensation tape used to fill in and make surfaces level before installing the sealant.*
