GORE™ TETRAD™ VersaPlane™ Laparoscopic Probes

Tetrad VersaPlane Laparoscopic Probe

The new generation of our surgical imaging probe family has been designed to meet the sophisticated needs of surgeons performing ultrasound-guided procedures. Application specific and ergonomic designs reduce the learning curve for ultrasound imaging in a variety of surgical procedures.

Patented sterilization designs incorporating sealed connectors allow these new surgical probes to benefit from common sterilization procedures such as STERIS® System I and STERRAD® hydrogen peroxide gas plasma.

Gore manufactures state-of-the-art probes that meet the demanding environmental and sterilization requirements of surgical applications. While standard specifications are offered, Gore offers custom designs as needed.

Safety

All safety testing will be done in compliance with IEC 60601-2-37.

  • Electrical leakage - High voltage breakdown
  • AC current leakage
  • Drop test

Environmental

Probe handle and requisite cable will meet the requirements for IEC529 "watertight" (IPX7).

Biocompatibility

The patient contact materials will be biocompatible per ISO 10993-1.

  • Category: Externally Communicating
  • Contact : Tissue
  • Contact duration: Limited (less than 24h)

Chemical compatibility

Unless otherwise noted, probes will be verified to be compatible for the equivalent of one year of use. Where applicable, the manufacturer's recommended concentration and exposure time will be used as a basis for determining the appropriate exposure.

  • CIDEX®
  • KLENZYME®
  • Saline, 5% solution
  • CIDEX® OPA
  • MetriZyme®
  • CIDEX® Plus
  • Aquasonic gel
  • Isopropyl alcohol: used for external wipe down, not for long-term soaking
  • 10% Clorox® solution: used for external wipe down, not for
    long-term soaking

Sterilizability

  1. The probe can be sterilized and shall meet the specifications and remain biocompatible after exposure to the following sterilization chemicals/environments:
    • Sterilization using STERIS® System I
    • Sterilization using STERRAD®
  2. The probe will be compatible with CIDEX® system disinfectant. Gore makes no claims of disinfectant efficacy beyond those of the chemical manufacturer.
