Fieldwork (GORE™ Module Installation & Retrieval)
GORE™ Modules, previously known as GORE-SORBER® Modules, are supplied to you as part of our overall service package. In soils, cement slabs or rock, these modules are installed with simple hand tools in holes such as hammers and screw drivers, tile probes, slam bars or battery operated drills. The holes diameters are typically about 1-2cm or .5-.75" with depths of 18" to 36" or 0.5 to 1 meter. Typical steps include:

During GORE Module installation the field technician makes a small pilot hole (1-2cm diameter) using hand tools to a shallow depth (50-100 cm).

As each GORE Module is removed form its container, the serial number and corresponding site information are recorded.

The insertion rod is placed into the pocket in the end of the module and then inserted into the pilot hole.

The sample location is marked and the coordinates are recorded using GPS hand units.
