Pneumatic transport of fly ash to silo. Flakt pulse jet filter bags (2 X 72 oval bags as compact cassettes).

Optimization Potential

Clogging of the conventional bags caused excessive increase in pressure drop, requiring manual cleaning several times a year.

Solution

GORE® membrane/heavy duty polyester felt (16 oz) filter bags were installed. No manual cleaning required.

Results

Manual cleaning not required to maintain constant negative pressure in the system. Pressure drop is low and controllable via pulse cycle. Compressed air requirements reduced. No extra maintenance required.
