Combined Oil and Pulverized Coal Burning Boiler for Municipal Heating
Application
Combined oil and pulverized coal burning boiler for municipal heating. Pulse-cleaned filter from Flakt (216 bags).
Optimization Potential
New plant. Risk of possible clogging of conventional bags due to more oily fly ash from oil burning. Risk of thermal breakdown due to high operating constant temperature operation at 250ºC.
Solution
Install GORE® membrane/Teflon® B fiberglass fabric (16.8 oz) filter bags which withstand a constant operating temperature of 250ºC and peaks of 288ºC.
Results
GORE® membrane filter bags have functioned at low controlled pressure drops and with low cleaning frequency. No thermal deterioration has been noted. On the other hand, all bags were replaced once due to fire caused by dust output malfunction which filled the filter with fly ash and self-ignited.
