Optimization Potential

The plant was generating visible emissions from a furnace collector every time the collector underwent a cleaning cycle. The fine-metal fume was migrating through the conventional woven-polyester fabric. The local, air-control agency informed the plant that it must stop this visible emission.

Solution

The plant installed more than 1,000 GORE® membrane/woven polyester filter bags.

Results

After the GORE® membrane filter bags were installed, emissions through the bags ceased. The initial set of bags continues to provide excellent filtration performance after more than 10 years of service.
