Special glass manufacturing for the automotive industry
In the manufacture of specialty glass, Day Hoppers, containing various additives used in production, build up pressure and must be vented. Use of needle-felt filter envelopes in this system resulted in very high differential pressures. This caused poor pressure equalization and resulted in mismeasurement of flux material weight which led to faulty production batches.
The polyester needle felt was replaced by GORE™ filter bags. Due to the oustanding cleanability of these bags a distinct improvement of the filter‘s resistance was achieved.
The pressure build-up above the dosing scales was effectively eliminated by the GORE™ filter bags. The number of faulty batches, resulting from the pressure built-up is now almostzero.
