Optimization Potential
Conventional polyester spun-bonded filter cartridges became packed with fine dust, especially in the summer months when humidity was high. The fan was shut down during unloading and the cartridges cleaned manually to unplug the pleats.
Solution
Installed 264 GORE LIGHT-PULSE® Filter Cartridges (GORE® membrane/spun-bonded polyester); 28 ft2per filter, operating at an air-to-cloth ratio of 2.7/1.
Results
The collector operates at a 4" DP with no downtime due to filter plugging. One set of filters completed an entire shipping season (eight months) and is starting the second season. Previously, at least two sets of filters were required for each season.
