GORE-SHIELD® GS8000 EMI Gaskets

GORE-SHIELD® GS8000 EMI Gaskets

GORE-SHIELD® GS8000 is a versatile, conductive gasket material that provides excellent EMI shielding effectiveness for portable wireless devices.  GS8000 is the ideal gasket solution for wireless applications that employ non-metallic housing materials and thin circuit boards.

GORE-SHIELD® GS8000 is a soft, highly compressible material.  It provides high shielding effectiveness with low closure forces.  These lower closing forces reduce stress on device housings and circuit boards.  Specialized dispensing machines are now available that can used to place even small, intricate gasket shapes of GS8000 automatically, at high production rates.

GS8000 offers the following advantages vs. alternative shielding technologies:

GS8000 Dispensed Gaskets Metal Shim Metal Cans
Cure Time  No  Yes  NA   NA
Low DC Resistance  Yes  Yes  No  No
Design Flexibility  Yes  No  Yes  Yes

GORE-SHIELD® GS8000 consists of a nickel-plated base polymer, a foil layer, and an electrically conductive, pressure-sensitive adhesive.  GS8000 gaskets can be precision die-cut for a wide variety of applications.  Gaskets are packaged on polyester backed rolls that enable automatic dispensing at high production rates.
