GORE™ carbon-filled polytetrafluoroethylene(PTFE)electrodes and electrode assemblies (formerly EXCELLERATOR®) offer significant advantages for manufacturers of both batteries and electrochemical double layer capacitors (EDLCs).
Gore combines high carbon loading and high strength to produce electrodes that offer not only the highest power and capacitance, but also the ability to stand up to the stress of high-speed, high-volume manufacturing, thus reducing scrap. This unique combination can be used for designing the smallest, lightest batteries/EDLCs and still offer outstanding manufacturing throughput.
GORE™ electrodes are available in a wide range of thicknesses, densities, and shapes-flat or bead-customized to the desired battery or EDLC architectures. They can be bonded directly to a current collector to produce single-side or double-side electrode assemblies, simplifying the battery/EDLC assembly process.
