GORE™ Controlled-Impedance Shielded Twisted Pair Wire

Controlled-Impedance Shielded Twisted Pair

Gore manufactures a broad range of standard and custom controlled-impedance shielded twisted pair wire. All versions benefit from Gore's 40 years of vertical integration of fluoropolymer material development, highly evolved tape wrap process, and design expertise.

GORE™ Controlled-Impedance, Shielded Twisted Pair Wire is especially suited for mil/aero harness applications. Features and benefits include:

  • All materials rated for temperature extremes
  • Non-flammable, non-outgassing materials
  • Extreme uniformity from Gore’s proprietary tape wrapped materials and process
  • Hybrid insulation for small size and easy stripping
  • Tefzel® jacket for improved radiation resistance

Properties of GORE™ Controlled-Impedance, Shielded Twisted Pair Wire

Construction Two silver-plated copper conductors each insulated with overlapping tapes of PTFE insulation, twisted and shielded with silver-plated copper braid wire with an overall ETFE jacket.
Temperature Rating -55°C to 150°C
Insulation PTFE over ePTFE
Color Coding The two insulated wires are colored white and blue, standard. The outer jacket is colored black, standard.
Conductors Silver-plated copper conductors are standard
Voltage Rating 500 Volts
Impedance 100Ω to 120Ω standard are stamdard. Other impedances available upon request.

Gore Specializes in High-Performance Custom Solutions

Gore manufactures a range of standard cable, but we also offer custom solutions. The impedance of a standard wire is 100Ω and 120Ω (standard impedance tolerance is ±10Ω), but any other value can be offered. Price quotes are available for special sizes or performance characteristics.

Reduced Cable Size and Increased Durability

Gore is also uniquely capable of offering high-integrity, ultra-thin insulation material such as GORE™ High Strength Toughened Fluoropolymer. This insulation offers additional benefits, including:

  • Minimum possible diameter for space savings
  • Increased flexibility
  • Lightest possible weight
  • Unparalleled scrape and cut-through resistance

Additional Options

  • Custom color coding and stripping
  • High strength alloy conductors
