Military Fibre Channel High Speed Cable Assembly

High Speed Interconnects For Military/Avionic Applications

The environmental conditions found in today's modern aircraft are very demanding; Gore has developed a range of high speed interconnects that deliver outstanding electrical and mechnical performance while guaranteeing signal integrity.  Mission success is critical under these severe operational conditions and the GORE™ Fibre Channel Interconnects will meet all airborne requirements.

GORE™ Fibre Channel Assemblies are used either as between box assemblies or inside-the-box assemblies.

Between Box Assemblies

There are two standard cable options: AWG 22 and AWG 26.  These cables utilize GORE™ quad cable to transmit high-data-rate signals in a small, lightweight, flexible package.

Using the field-cancellation properties of balanced cable design, two differential signals can be transmitted within the same shield without interfering with each other. This configuration provides up to 40 percent savings in cable bundle size and weight compared to conventional twin-ax cables. Gore's unique low dielectric-constant materials and cable geometry maximize the performance of quad cable constructions.

Cable Design Features

  • Fluoropolymer insulation materials for high temperature rating, low outgassing, and high reliability
  • Double-braided shielding enhances noise immunity and EMI suppression
  • Stranded conductors increase flexibility

Guaranteed to meet the applicable 3XT11 Fibre Channel Standard requirements for signal integrity at the specified data rate
