High-fidelity probes ensure accurate measurements
GORE Coaxial Spring Probe Assemblies provide high-fidelity performance through 6 GHz. The connectors ensure a clean cable-to-board transition, eliminating impedance mismatches associated with typical pogo-pin connectors. High performance coaxial cables with Gore expanded PTFE dielectric offer electrical and mechanical advantages over standard RG cables. Expanded PTFE dielectric has a dielectric constant below 1.3, which allows for high-speed signals, 85 percent velocity of propagation, and low loss for a given cable size. Gore's small, flexible cables minimize cable bundle sizes, allowing for simplified routing.
Cables are available that maintain one-ohm impedance and signal skews within 25 picoseconds.
Gore also offers several high-performance interconnect systems compatible with coaxial spring probe assemblies for connection to measurement equipment or equipment sub-systems. GORE 0.100" Coaxial Interconnects, UHD, and SMT products provide high speed cable-to-board and backplane cable interfaces.
Modular packaging allows for cost-effective customization
GORE Coaxial Spring Probe connectors are modular, allowing customization to meet user requirements. Assemblies are manufactured in single line units that can be packaged in a variety of configurations. Our spring probes are typically spaced on 0.075 in. centers, with signals on 0.150 in. centers. Single-row, multi-row, and checkerboard signal-ground configurations are available. Pogo-pin characteristics such as contact head type, spring force, and stroke length, can be varied to meet your requirements.
