By extending the cable shield through each individual connector, impedance is maintained and crosstalk kept well under 1.0 percent, even when transmitting at gigabits-per-second rates. Industry-standard latch-and-eject connectors (Gore can supply headers, too) provide positive retention and polarized plugging. Other latching schemes and four-way stackable connectors are also available. Expanded PTFE dielectric allows solid conductors up to AWG 25 for lowest loss. RF-grade BNC connectors with captive center contacts and 0.5 in. stepped crimp sleeves ensure reliability and robustness.
