Different plants – Different trainees – Different perspectives
We think it’s important that from the outset our apprentices get to know each other. So twice a year we hold a get-together which includes apprentices from all our plants. It’s not just a chance to have a good time, meet new people and exchange ideas and experience; it’s also an the opportunity for them to extend their network beyond their immediate location and establish contacts that may well be useful in the future. This applies particularly to cases where training takes place at different locations. For example, an apprentice specializing in industrial business management in Feldkirchen-Westerham will be expected to complete part of his/her training in Putzbrunn, where the centralized departments of Human Resources and Purchasing are located. It is a similar picture for those undergoing training in industrial business management or specializing in IT expertise in Pleinfeld. They also need to go to Putzbrunn to do their accounting there. During this period, they receive additional allowances towards e.g. hotel accommodation. Subject to demand, apprentices may also be given the opportunity to do a part of the apprenticeship at other plants for a limited amount of time.
